The Department of Geography at Ghent University is known for its interdisciplinary and dynamic approach to teaching and research in all areas and subfields of geography and geomatics.

The department is part of the Faculty of Science and offers a collaborative and innovative environment, supported by a dedicated team of professors and researchers.

Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environment.

Geomaticsis the discipline of collecting, storing, processing and delivering geographic information or information with a spatial reference.
